Lawrence County Health Care Authority Hires Brim Healthcare to Manage Lawrence Medical Center

NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 7---Brim Healthcare assumed the management of Lawrence Medical Center in Moulton, Ala., effective April 1. The company was awarded a 5-year contract to manage the hospital by the Lawrence County Health Care Authority.

The leadership team of the Medical Center-- including Tom Dunning, chief executive officer, Danny Crowe, chief financial officer, and Iverson Pace, chief nursing officer-- remain at the medical center as employees of Brim.

Lawrence Medical Center is a 98-bed, full-service, acute-care hospital with a six-bed ICU, two operating rooms and nine radiology rooms. The hospital also operates three medical office buildings and rural health clinics.

"We are very pleased to have the opportunity to work with the Lawrence County Health Care Authority to provide leadership to Lawrence Medical Center," said Mark Turner, senior vice president of operations for Brim. "We will work closely with the Authority board and the medical staff to chart the best course for the future of the hospital."

Dr. Charles Coffey, who participated in the selection process, said, "Following the recent tornado, the hospital and its medical staff demonstrated the type of care and service available to the community and I look forward to working with the board, Brim and my fellow physicians, in continuing to deliver that high level of care each and every day."

Based in Nashville, Brim operates 37 hospitals in 16 states. The company has owned, managed, and consulted with hospitals across the country since 1971.
