Shawano Medical Center Receives Best in Class® Award from HR Solutions International

Shawano, WI (April 1, 2010) - Shawano Medical Center located in Shawano, Wisconsin, recently received the Best in Class® award from HR Solutions International, Inc. The award recognizes hospitals that have achieved excellence in regards to their employee survey efforts. To receive the award, hospitals must score in the top 10 percent of the company's database. Shawano Medical Center was selected based on their overall job satisfaction levels as well as their patient care and customer satisfaction.

Schuyler Hospital Receives Quality Respiratory Care Recognition Award 7th Year in Row

Montour Falls, NY (March 24, 2010) - Schuyler Hospital has earned the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) award under a national program aimed at helping patients and families make informed decisions about the quality of the respiratory care services available at hospitals. This is the 7th consecutive year Schuyler's Cardiopulmonary Services Department has received the award.

Wadley Regional Receives Performance Achievement Award for Stroke Care

Texarkana, TX (March 22, 2010) - Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas, recently received the American Stroke Association's Get with the Guidelines (GWTG)- Stroke PLUS Silver Performance Achievement Award. The award recognizes Wadley for implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment according to nationally-accepted standards and recommendations.

Adirondack Medical Center Awarded for Public Relations Excellence

Saranac Lake, NY (November 16, 2009) - The Community Relations team at Adirondack Medical Center (AMC)was selected as the winner of the 2009 Public Relations Excellence Award by the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS). The award acknowledges breadth of creativity and excellence for advocacy efforts of New York's health care providers. AMC was chosen as the award recipient from the Northeastern New York region, which includes nearly 100 hospitals and long-term care facilities.

Sunnyside Community Hospital Wins State Award

Sunnyside, Wash. (October, 2009) - Sunnyside Community Hospital located in Sunnyside, Washington won the "Best Hands on Care" award from the Washington State Hospital Association. The hospital was presented with the award during the Association's meeting in Seattle. The award recognized the hospital employees for preventing the spread of germs through attention to detail, hand washing practices, and education for family members, visitors and the community.

Powell Valley Healthcare Receives Quality Award

Powell, Wyo. (October, 2009) - Powell Valley Healthcare located in Powell, Wyoming recently received its 5th Quality Award from Mountain-Pacific Quality Health. Mountain-Pacific is the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Montana, Wyoming, Hawaii and Alaska and works for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to promote proven best practices and transform the way healthcare is delivered.

Southwest Health Center Receives Hospital of Choice Award

Platteville, Wis. (July 10, 2009) - The American Alliance of Healthcare Providers (AAHCP) has selected Southwest Health Center in Platteville, Wis. as one of 25 national recipients of the Hospital of Choice Award in Category I, for hospitals with fewer than 100 licensed beds. The Hospital of Choice Award is uniquely designed to highlight America’s most patient-friendly hospitals.

“Technology plays a key role in our health care delivery system, but the award reinforces the importance of that small-town touch that accompanies our big-city care,” said Anne Klawiter, president and chief executive officer of Southwest Health Center. “Our physicians and hospital staff earned this award, and I am so proud to accept it on their behalf.”

Southwest Health Center earned the Hospital of Choice Award by meeting all application requirements and demonstrating competence. To be considered for the award, Southwest Health Center had to prove itself as a patient-friendly institution with a high level of patient satisfaction. Less than 10 percent of the nation’s hospitals are eligible to be considered for the award.

“Southwest Health Center has a proven track record when it comes to meeting or exceeding the expectations of our patients,” said John Streich, chairman of the hospital’s board of directors. “The caliber of care is top-notch.”

Rod Barton Named Grassroots Champion

Powell, Wyo.(April 1, 2009) - Rod Barton, CEO of Powell Valley Healthcare (PVHC) in Powell, Wyoming, recently received the Partnership for Action Grassroots Champion award for the state of Wyoming by the American Hospital Association (AHA). The Grassroots Award was created by the American Hospital Association with state hospital associations to honor one leader from each state who has excelled at effectively delivering the hospital message to elected officials, broadened the base of community support for hospitals, and worked tirelessly on behalf of patients, hospitals and health systems. Barton was awarded at the AHA Annual Membership Meeting held in Washington, D.C. this past April.

Brim Associate Voted Secretary/Treasurer for Montana Healthcare Association

Dillon, Mont. (March 1, 2009) - Steve Hannah, CEO at Barrett Hospital & Healthcare in Dillon, Montana was voted as Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Trustees for MHA (formerly the Montana Hospital Assciation) –An Association of Montana Health Care Providers. The organization serves healthcare facilities in Montana. Members of the organization represent a broad range of healthcare organizations across the state including hospitals, long-term care facilities, critical access hospitals, home health and hospice agencies, psychiatric facilities, physician groups, assisted living centers, senior housing and insurance services.

Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital Earns Press Ganey Compass Award

Thermopolis, Wyo.(November 18, 2008) - During the annual convention in Dallas, Texas on November 18, Press Ganey Associates awarded Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital located in Thermopolis, Wyoming, its prestigious Compass Award for Inpatient Satisfaction Improvement
.
The Press Ganey Compass Awards recognize the health care facilities whose satisfaction scores have shown the greatest improvement over the past two years. Satisfaction scores are analyzed across multiple service categories. Winners must have improved their mean score ratings by two points or more and have one of the three highest scores within their category. HSCMH had a 10.3 increase.
According to Marketing Director, T.J. Schoenewald, “Our next goal is to reach for a top ten ranking for our facility overall while continuing to improve our care and the perception of care at HSCMH.”
